Math we did this week

Math We Did This Week J

This week for math we learned about symmetry. Symmetry is when you have a drawing of something and another drawing of something that looks the same. When you fold the drawings together, they have to match each other. We also had to draw the symmetry line. If the drawings don’t add up then you don’t write down a symmetry line. It also works if one drawing is symmetrical or not symmetrical. If you ever try it, it is very fun. Trust me.  So a way to see where the line of symmetry  is, is you draw a shape and you fold the paper in half  and see if on both sides you the exact same shape and if you don’t then that isn’t the line of symmetry.  And that is what we learned about symmetry.

easter recounts

This week in Language Arts we did a recount on Easter. We had to finish it in 2-3 days. We had to write a first, next, then, and finally with a conclusion in our recount. We also did a recount plan to figure out what our ideas were going to be. It took us each about 10 minuts to do the recout plan. On our last day, day 3, we were revising our story.  Days 1-2 we wrote the story on paper we didn't do a good copy; instead, we revised on the rough copy. Thats what we did in language arts class this week.

Two teens launched a Lego guy in to space 24km above earth.
They made it with a camera and a balloon. It was so cool because you could see
it launch up into space. The teens were from Toronto, Ontario. The cameras were
set to take pictures every 20 seconds. When the Lego guy returned to earth they looked
at the pictures. They were shocked that the mini figure was clutching the Canadian
flag with a part of the earth in the back.
